Make A Financial Donation

All the work at the New Jersey Lions Eyeglass Recycling Center (NJLERC), a 501 (c) 3 organization, is performed by volunteers who are committed to help to bring sight to needy people in areas of poverty around the world.

The New Jersey Lions Eyeglass Recycling Center depends on donations from individuals and Lions Clubs and Charitable Foundations to keep its operations going. The center has many non-reimbursed costs such as eyeglass cleaning and storage materials, lens reading and cleaning equipment, processed eyeglass storage containers, insurance, eyeglass van transportation maintenance, and the like.

How to make a financial donation:

1. PAYPAL: Click the "donate" button to below to make a secure donation via PayPal (account not required).

2. CHECK: Checks must be made payable to NJLERC and mailed to PO Box 7263, West Trenton, NJ 08628 (be sure to provide your name and address to receive a letter of acknowledgement for your donation).

Your donation will help to provide for the materials and supplies needed for the volunteers to perform the work of processing the recycled eyeglasses for use on missions that serve visually impaired people. Whether with a donation of recycled eyeglasses and/or with a financial donation, your donation will help our volunteers to bring sight to many needy people.

Donate Your Used Eyeglasses

All types of used eyeglasses and sunglasses, prescription and non-prescription, for children and adults are accepted, including exceptionally strong or weak prescriptions. Reading glasses are also useful for those who perform close-up tasks while at work. Sunglasses are needed for people living near the equator, especially those with cataracts.

Among other locations, eyeglasses may be dropped off at any local Walmart stores with Vision Centers (click here for a listing of participating Walmart Vision Centers in the NJ/NY/PA area). They act as collection centers through out the United States. Large collection boxes can be found in the lobby. During the Month of May each year almost all NJ State Departments have collection boxes which can be found either in the lobby or other designated area.

You can also drop of your used eyeglass and hearing aides in collection boxes in your community. Click here for a list of locations. Check the Lions Clubs International Web site at www.lionsclubs.org for more information. In the United States you can also call 1-800-74 SIGHT for the nearest Lions Eyeglass Recycling Center. Glasses can also be mailed directly to: New Jersey Lions Eyeglass Recycling Center, PO Box 7263, West Trenton, NJ 08628.
